Thursday December 29, 2011
Skies will be sunny with mid to high level clouds. There is a very slight chance for scattered showers. Seas will be calm at 1 to 3 feet in height or less. Winds will be mostly SSE to WSW before shifting ENE. They will be light and variable at 5 mph or less. The cold front has dissipated , leaving a frontal trough just to the north of us. Cool, high pressure air continues to build in behind the trough, increasing the chances of rain ( See Fig. 2 ). Expect these weather conditions through Friday.
A strong cold front will come off the Texas coast on Saturday and enter the NW Caribbean Sea on Monday.
The air temperatures will range from the mid to high 70s (ºF) to the low to mid 80s (F) or 21ºC to 29ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are about 78ºF or 24ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 60 feet.
