Roatan Weather 8pm Update for Thursday, August 18, 2011

At 6pm this evening, 93L was centered at 15.4N x 80.5W or about 295 miles E of Roatan and 60 miles S. It is traveling due W at 10 to 15 mph. On this course it will make landfall near Cape Gracias Adios, sometime early tomorrow. It appears, that 93L will pass over us during the day on Friday.

The NHC is still giving the system, an 80% chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 to 48 hours. At this time, 93L is still a disorganized system and unless it moves N, landfall may prevent further development.

Heavy rainfall of 2" to 6" is possible, as this system passes over us. Winds are still in the 25 to 30 mph range.

Look for the next update around 8am tomorrow morning.
