The Tropical Weather Outlook
TD Harvey has dissipated. Hurricane Irene is headed away from Puerto Rico and is a Cat 2 hurricane. It could intensify into a major hurricane later today or tomorrow. The two invests west of the Cape Verde islands now have a 20% chance of becoming a tropical cyclones in the next 24 to 48 hours.
None of these systems currently pose a threat to us. However, since we are approaching the peak (Sept 10) of the hurricane season, all interests in the Bay Islands and on the north coast of Honduras should continue, to closely monitor the weather and prepare for future storms.
