The Tropical Weather Outlook
The
low pressure remnants of TS Ophelia are reorganizing and
strengthening. The NHC in this morning's 7am advisory gives this
system an 80% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48
hours. The latest satellite imagery, shows that this system is now
centered about 1800 miles due east of us. The official forecast is
for this system to move slowly northwestward in the next couple of
days. However, until its true strength and direction are determined,
all interests in the Bay Islands should monitor this storm system
closely for further development.
TS Phillipe is still located in the far eastern tropical Atlantic and is centered at 16.1N by 33.4W; moving NW at 7 mph. Maximum sustained winds are 50 mph. No significant change in strength or direction is expected in the next 24 hours.
