Again today, skies will be mostly sunny with mid to high level clouds. Seas will be 1 to 4 feet in height. This morning, winds will be ESE at 5 mph or less. This afternoon, they will shift to the north, as a strong cold front approaches. Tomorrow, expect strong northerly, gale force winds and rain. Today, there is a slight chance of rain.
A new, strong cold front moved off the Texas coast yesterday. Early this morning, it was on a line from SE Louisiana to the western Bay of Campeche, Mexico, ( See Fig. 2 ). It will move through the Yucatan channel into the NW Caribbean tonight. This front will reach from central Cuba to eastern Honduras Monday night and from E Cuba to the far SW Caribbean by Tuesday night. Gale force winds are on the backside of this front. Interests on the north side of the Bay Islands should monitor the weather and prepare accordingly.
The air temperatures will be in the mid to high 70s (ºF) to the low to mid 80s or 22ºC to 25ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are about 82ºF or 28ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 60 feet.
