Today's weather is essentially a replay of yesterday's. Skies will be mostly sunny with mid to high level clouds. Winds will be very light, at 2 to 10 mph or less, and highly variable in direction. Seas will be calm at 1 to 2 feet. This current weather pattern is, in part, due to a weak cold front reaching from the middle of Florida to the Bay of Campeche, Mexico.
The air temperatures will be in the 80s to the mid 90s (F) or 27 to 32 (C). With the heat index and little or no wind during the day, it will feel like 100 degrees plus. Everyone, especially divers should stay well hydrated.
At depth, ocean water temperatures are about 82F to 86F or 28C to 30C . Visibility is generally 40 to 80 feet.

The Tropical Weather Outlook

Lee is a post tropical cyclone and continues to be a flood threat, as it moves NE, across the Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic States.
Katia remains a major hurricane. It will pass between the East Coast of the USA and Bermuda sometime today and tomorrow. Maximum sustained winds are 105 mph.
A nearly stationary, poorly organized, broad area of low pressure has developed in the SW Gulf of Mexico. It currently has a 40% chance for further intensification. A hurricane hunter aircraft may investigate later today. (Area 1 in Fig. 2)
A tropical wave, located 300 miles E of the Leeward Islands, has a 10% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. (Area 2 in Fig. 2)
95L has intensified into TD 14. It is expected to become a tropical storm later today. This morning, the center was at 11.6N x 38.1W or about 2800 miles ESE of us. It is traveling W at 18 mph
Both TD14 and the tropical wave E of the Leeward Islands bear watching closely. They currently do not pose a threat to us.
However, since we are approaching the peak (Sept 10) of the hurricane season, all interests in the Bay Islands and on the north coast of Honduras should continue, to monitor the weather and prepare for future storms.
