Tropical
investigation number 98L or Invest 98L, as it is called in NHC
shorthand, now has a 70% chance of becoming a tropical depression in
the next 48 hours. It is becoming better organized and is showing
signs of CCW rotation. Conditions remain favorable for
intensification.
This
system currently does not pose a threat to us. However, 98L is still
centered , well below 16N latitude and is slowly moving due west at 5
to 10 knots. It is forecast to approach and enter the Eastern
Caribbean Sea this weekend. All interests in the Bay Islands and on
the north coast of Honduras should monitor its progress, as it moves
toward the Western Caribbean Sea.
