Caribbean Sea

Today,
it will be sunny, with mid to high level clouds. Seas will be 1 to 3
feet in height. Winds, will be mostly NW to WNW at 15 to 20 mph .
This
morning, a cold front from near Apalachicola, Florida, to the
central Bay of Campeche, is moving SE and will reach from the Florida
Keys to the northern Yucatan by Sunday morning. Then it will become
quasi-stationary Sunday afternoon through early Monday. The front
will then push through the Yucatan channel and into NW Caribbean Sea,
as high pressure builds north of the area. It will drift south
through mid-week. Expect strong NW winds behind the front and rain
and thunderstorms along the frontal boundary.
The
air temperatures will be in the high 70s (ºF)
to the low to mid 80s or 22ºC
to 25ºC.
Ocean
water temperatures are about 82ºF
to 88ºF or 28ºC
to 31ºC . Visibility is
generally 20 to 60 feet With the wind chill factor, it will feel like
the 60s, especially to divers exiting the water.

The
Tropical Weather Outlook
The
remnant low of tropical depression Rina, currently is just off the
southwest tip of western Cuba. It has become nearly stationary.
A
broad area of low pressure, remains over the central western
Caribbean Sea. It is drifting slowly northwestward. This system, has
a very low chance...near 0 percent...of becoming a tropical cyclone
during the next 48 hours. Another low pressure system in the eastern
Atlantic, about 900 miles WNW of the Cape Verde Islands has a 10
percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48
hours.
