quickly reach from the Florida Big Bend to the E Bay of Campeche
Friday night. It will then begin to interact with
Rina
.
The
air temperatures will be in the high 70s (ºF)
to the low to mid 80s or 22ºC
to 25ºC.
Ocean
water temperatures are about 82ºF
to 88ºF or 28ºC
to 31ºC . Visibility is
generally 20 to 60 feet or lower, as the fresh water and runoff from
Rina mixes into the water column.
The
Tropical Weather Outlook
Rina
is a category 1 hurricane. At 5 am EDT, the center was located at
18.8 N x 86.9 W or about 170 miles NNW (350º)
of Roatan. It is moving NW at 6 mph. Maximum sustained winds are now
75 mph. The central pressure is 988 mb. A gradual turn, toward the N,
is expected and Rina could weaken into a tropical storm later today.
97L
has dissipated into a surface trough of low pressure. There is a
large area of clouds and rain associated with this low pressure
feature. It is still moving westward at 10 to 15 mph. However,
conditions have become less favorable for development. Consequently,
this system, now has a very low chance...near 0 percent...of becoming
a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
Elsewhere,
tropical cyclone formation is not expected in the next 48 hours.
