It is creeping WNW or 290º/300º at 3 mph. Maximum sustained winds are now 100 mph. A gradual turn toward the NW is still expected in the next day or so. Conditions continue to be conducive for further strengthening. On its present forecast path, it does not pose a significant danger to us. However, interests, especially those on the north side of the islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should expect increasing winds and seas, as Rina moves slowly west and intensifies.

At 2am EDT, the center of 97L was located just to the north of Curacao. Its status has not changed significantly in the last 24 hours. It is still moving WNW at 10 to 15 mph. However, conditions have become more favorable for development. Consequently, this system now has a medium chance...near 40 percent...of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the north coast of Honduras should continue to monitor both these systems.
